PRESCRIPTION
POLAROID SUNGLASSES
How
great are prescription polaroid sunglasses? Once you
have a pair, you will never be without them again! The
lenses are great for year-round use, as the glare off
the snow can be just as harmful and painful as the bright
summer sun or the reflection off cars as you are driving.
Polaroid lenses are arguably the most comfortable sunglass
lens type available.
The
lenses can be inserted in almost any frame and are available
in glass or plastic. The two most common tints used
are neutral grey or brown. However, many other colors
are now available including yellow, copper and many
more.
They are better for driving than lenses that change
color with changes in light level since much of the
light wavelengths needed to make the lenses darker are
screened out by the vehicle windshield. Many people
complain that their transition or photogrey lenses don't
turn dark enough while driving and this is the reason.
Fishing
Fishermen
and women discover how great they are for seeing fish
in the water and cutting that powerful glare of the
water and sand. The copper and bronze colors are especially
good for salt water fishing applications. On the Madison
or the Yellowstone most anglers prefer grey or brown.
The
lenses are available in single vision, flat top bifocal
and trifocal and progressive lens styles. Dr. Sather
is an active fisherman. While enjoying a day of fishing,
he prefers a flat top bifocal (if you are over 45 you
know what that is about) placed low in the lens. This
assists him in tying knots but does not affect his balance
when wading or getting around a boat. He may suggest
that you increase the power in the reading or near addition
so that it is even easier to thread a small fly or lure
onto your leader or line when the light level is low.
So
whether for protection from the sun while recreating
or just being outside in the bright light, polaroid
sunglasses are a sure thing for eye protection. And
with the option to place the lenses in almost any frame,
you will also be able to choose a frame to fit your
lifestlye, fashion or budget.
For
those of you who like to wear contact lenses while out,
you can have non-prescription polaroid lenses put in
any frame. Come on in and we will fix you up.
