Quality and Selection
Dr. Sather has 35 years of experience in fitting patients with new glasses and adjusting them as necessary. Dr. Sather knows that selecting eyewear is a personal and important choice. After your prescription and frames are prepared, Dr. Sather will carefully adjust the frames of your glasses to ensure that they look right and feel comfortable. He offers more than 500 frames by today's most popular designers, including:
- Kate Spade
- Lilly Pulitzer®
- Scott Harris
- Banana Republic
- Liz Claiborne®
- Saks Fifth Avenue
- Cote D’AzurTM
- Safilo® ElastaTM
- Michael Ryen
We will help you select frames from our in-house examples. Together, we will help you find frames that complement your appearance, lifestyle, favorite activities, and personal style. Once you have selected your frames, Dr. Sather works with our optical lab to order your prescription and new frames. Single-vision lenses are usually returned to us within seven to 10 days. When your glasses are finished, you can return to our offices to try them out. At this time, Dr. Sather can make any adjustments necessary for your comfort and aesthetic desires.
Sather Eye Clinic and Optical also offers a number of progressive lenses. These lenses offer vision correction for both nearsightedness and farsightedness. However, because our lens prescriptions are blended, there is no line in the middle of our lenses, as with old-fashioned bifocals and trifocals. The blended prescription is more suitable for computer work, since computer screens are typically about 26 inches away – too close for distance lenses and too far away for reading glasses. Progressive lenses can help you achieve clear vision at this tricky middle distance.
Like many of our patients, you may be ready to make the move to contact lenses. With so many available lens types for different needs, contacts are more comfortable and effective than ever before. We offer thousands of contact lens options, including regular soft contacts, gas permeable (“semi-soft”) contacts, bifocal lenses, and lenses for astigmatism. Dr. Sather has specialized training in contact lens use and keeps up with the latest developments in contact lens technology. During your in-office eye exam, he will help you find the right lenses for your needs and provide training to help you adjust to your new contacts.
